Course location Leipzig
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe appreciated the city of Leipzig and its unique features: "Mein Leipzig lob` ich mir, es ist ein klein Paris und bildet seine Leute ..."

The city has not lost a bit of its charm since then. It is moulded by its 600 year old university, the book and trade fairs and its great music tradition extending from Johann Sebastian Bach to Kurt Masur.
Saint Nicholas Church in the city centre came to represent the peaceful revolution in the East of Germany. In Leipzig you continnually encounter history in the making at every turn – there is much to discover, to explore and to experience. The people of Leipzig are proud of their city – they will readily tell you Leipzig history and anecdotes.

About interDaF e. V.
As a consequence of the political changes in 1989, interDaF e. V. am Herder-Institut emerged from the old Herder Institute, alongside the new Herder Institute and Studienkolleg Sachsen, and was established in 1992. Since then, a total of more than 15000 students have taken part in our intensive German courses, our winter and summer language courses and our further training courses for foreign German teachers and trainee teachers.

Our staff are highly-qualified German teachers with many years of experience in teaching German as a foreign language and are commited to their task. Naturally, course participants are taken care of on an individual basis.

Our teaching methods follow the modern communicative approach. The development and training of speaking, listening, writing and reading skills is combined with the systematic teaching of German grammar structures. The study of German culture is an essential aspect of learning German for us.
